Topps Tiles plc is a British national retailer based in Enderby. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE SmallCap Index.
The first store was opened in Manchester in 1963 by Ted Derbyshire and Alan Brindle and then sold the stores to Bester & Williams. There are now over 320 stores. It used to be based in Wilmslow but is now based at Grove Park, next to the M1 near Enderby and the B1114 (former A46).
Topps Tiles launched a new slogan in late 2010; "Tiles for Everyone"
Topps Tiles sells floor tiles, natural stone, laminate and solid wood flooring, and related products and accessories such as underfloor heating, tools, adhesives, grouts and cleaning products.
Topps Tiles presently have a 25% market share. Group revenue for 52 weeks to Sept 30 2006 was £180.2 million with an operating profit of £38.9 million,Topps Tiles planned to open 24 new stores in that financial period but managed to open 27 new stores.
The 2010 annual report, gave the market share of Topps Tiles as 25%, an increase on the previous year by 2%.
